Mahadevi Birla World Academy (MBWA) was established in 1959 by illustrious industrialist G D Birla in the name of his wife, Mahadevi Birla. He firmly believed that a nation could progress only when industrial and educational development complemented each other. For him, this meant assigning adequate importance to women's education.
